Fire Lookout Association Western Regional Conference will be held Friday
October 8th through Sunday October 10th in Truckee,
California. Located at the historic Veteran’s Hall in downtown Truckee,
the conference will feature guest speakers, workshops and booths focusing
on fire lookouts, fire prevention and wildland fire/urban interface
issues. You will have the opportunity to watch the sunset from Martis
Peak Lookout on Friday night, attend a silent auction and lookout dinner
on Saturday night at the historic Sierra Valley Lodge, and tour a variety
of lookouts on Sunday.
Pre-registration fees: $15 for the 2 day conference; $23 (includes tax and gratuities) for the Saturday evening dinner and silent auction at Sierra Valley Lodge. Day of Conference Registration: $10 per day. $25 per person for Saturday dinner. Tours: On Sunday there will be guided ½ day and full day tours to local lookouts as well as options to go out and explore on your own. Drivers and vehicles are needed. Each guided tour will be equipped with radio communications between the front and back vehicles. Passengers should help out with gasoline costs. Come prepared – pack a lunch!
