Lodging-

MOTELS - There are a lot of them in downtown Bend (population 50,000), almost any chain one might want. But I'm listing the only two I could find that are close to the High Desert Museum, which is actually 6 miles south of Bend. Rates vary with the number of people and whatever discounts one might qualify for. La Quinta is the closest to the High Desert Musem, but it's pretty spendy.

RV PARKS - Here are the only two that are south of the Bend city center. Neither are suitable for tent camping. Bend Keystone does not have a website, so the rate may not be current. Two other RV parks to the north are listed in the tent camping section below.

TENT CAMPING - Sadly, there do not appear to be any very good options for tent campers. There's nothing anywhere near the HDM, with or without showers as it turns out. Here's the best of what I could find. (Carpools may be a good idea for tent campers) Tumalo SP, KOA, and Bend Kampground are all on the wrong side of the frequently gridlocked Bend city. Please contact me personally if you are planning on tent camping - I'm still looking for other possibilities - we may be able to do something as a group if there are enough of us tent camping.
