Yellow River Fire Tower

Yellow River is the only fire lookout in the state of Iowa located in Harpers Ferry. The 100' Aermotor tower with 7'x7' metal cab was acquired from the U.S. Forest Service in the 1950s and rebuilt in 1962 on the Yellow River State Forest by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. The tower is still standing as of 5/05 and is situated on or around LAT 430967.8 x LON 911452.3.
