Notes

  • This tower was a joint venture between Massachusetts, New York, and Vermont all paying some of the costs of its operation
  • The town of Williamstown donated $300 toward the tower. Some of this was to enable public access via a ladder to the tower
  • This was one of two towers constructed to replace the semi-blind site at the top of Mount Greylock in Adams
  • The other site was Savoy
  • The tower was staffed until 1923
  • All that remains of this tower are the footings
