Description: The Tahoe National Forest is seeking a relief tower operator for Foresthill CA and Sierraville CA Ranger Districts. Candidate can expect a 40 hour week with overlap and commute time between the two districts. Barracks and vehicle may be supplied.
Candidate must be motivated, flexible, and have the ability to live in an isolated location for long periods of time. Duties include smoke detection, use of maps and compass, basic radio communication and operation. Osborne fire finder experience appreciated but not required. Ability to communicate clearly with the public and Forest Service personnel in emergency and non-emergency situations a must.

The Flathead National Forest will be filling temporary fire positions for the upcoming 2016 fire season.
You will need to contact the hiring manager(s) listed below for more information about duty location and the number of positions available. These are TEMPORARY wildland fire positions with a maximum six-month tour of duty (not to exceed 1039 hours). The anticipated starting dates for these positions are mid-April to early June 2016.
