Members: 114 We pasted out over 600 FFLA flyers at lookouts, ranger stations, and interpretive centers throughout Oregon. We left flyers at 4 locations in Northern California, 3 locations in Montana, 3 locations in western Idaho, and 2 locations in western Washington. Lookout
Projects and Surveys: Bald Butte Lookout, (Burns Interagency Fire Zone) we made two trips to salvage windows, door, and lightening rods before it was burnt to the ground. Big Rock Lookout was surveyed at the request of the private owners to estimated the cost to restore the lookout, and to see if the FFLA was interested in adopting the lookout. We also made a second trip to seal up the lookout for the winter. Wild Horse Lookout was surveyed at the request of the USFS to determine if the lookout could be restored, and turned into a rental. It was determined that the cab is be on restoration. Tallowbox Lookout was surveyed to assess fire damage from vandals. The plan is to build a new 20' all steel tower in the spring of 2008. Mount Stella Lookout was surveyed to see if it could be restored, and turned into a rental. If work is not done soon to stabilize this lookout, and garage we could be losing it soon. Ship Mountain Lookout was surveyed to see if it could be moved from its location in California to Oregon, to be restored, and saved. Currently waiting on transfer of ownership. Bly Ranger Station Lookout, (Fremont NF) the small cab from the 1950's 20' wooden tower was remove from the ranger station, and moved to a city park in Bly, Oregon. Sexton
Mountain Lookout to conduct a joint survey with ODF to determine how to relocate
the 1921 D-6 cupola cabin to the Tillamook Forestry Center. Oregon
