Minnesota Chapter Report
2006

The Red Lake Reservation will be taking four fire towers down this spring, some are in very poor shape and one is a 120 foot tower and good. Right now it looks like they will be cut down and dropped, unless somebody wants them. What is holding any new owners back will be the cost of having a crane lay the tower down for dismantling.

The fire tower on the East side of the Lake Bemidji, will be taken down sometime between 1-22-07 and 1-31-07. This tower will be moved to the Bemidji Industrial Park unit spring, then moved and re-erected at Boy Scout Camp "Wilderness".

The fire tower at the Minnesota State Fair was open for climbing for the first time and was a great success during fair week. Also the Pinewood Fire Tower at the Beltrami County Fair was open for climbing during the three day fair and over seven hundred persons enjoyed the view from the top.
