MEMBERSHIP:     The Indiana Chapter gained one member in 2008. I believe we now have 8 paid members.  

RESTORATION:  The McCormicks Creek Fire Tower in McCormicks Creek State Park achieved recognition as the fifth tower on the National Historic Lookout Register for the state of Indiana.  The State Park plans an event for the spring of 2009 and will be working with the FFLA chapter to do some interpretive activities related to fire towers in association with the recognition of this important achievement.

CHAPTER DEVELOPMENT:  We developed one newsletter in 2008 and sent it out and I did some recruiting efforts to try to enlist more membership. In the newsletter several projects were suggested but thus far no one has come forth and offered to work with me on seeing them through.

ACTIVITIES:   None in 2008. The McCormicks Creek Fire Tower rededication is planned for Spring 2009. The date is not yet set.

PLAN OF WORK FOR 2009;

• Recruit more members
• Work with Marquita Manley at McCormicks Creek on a program for interpretation of fire lookouts.
• Develop 1-2 newsletters to try to solicit more enthusiasm and interest in 2009.
