NEW LOCAL CHAPTER:
During 2007, the Colville Local Chapter was created, under the direction of Rod Fosback. This chapter has been working very hard to try to find a way to save Stranger Mt. Lookout, which is going to have to be moved to make way for a multi-agency communications repeater site. The Colville Chapter also set up a new postage stamp program with proceeds benefiting the FFLA.

LOOKOUT NEWS:
Two of the five lookouts severely damaged in the late 2006 windstorm are located in Eastern Washington. Clemen Mt. Lookout was subsequently destroyed due to safety concerns, and Harriet Lookout had its cab completely torn apart in the storm. The future of the remaining 60 foot wooden tower in unknown.

Salmo Mountain Lookout and Timber Mountain Lookout are both reportedly close to being ready to be rented, after substantial restoration work in recent years.

Alpine Lookout got a new roof, and Thorp Mountain Lookout also underwent significant repair work.

There were no significant changes to the list of actively staffed lookouts from previous years.
