The eastern region of the FFLA stands at 11 organized chapters and 8 states with an area Representative, 2 of these areas are close to becoming full chapters and this should happen in the coming year. Unfortunately we lost one of our chapters directors and there by had to disband out the MD / DE chapter, but our PA./ keystone chapter director, Stephen Cummings, has agreed to service the members there until a new chapter can be formed in the future.

In the last year six lookouts in the eastern region were saved and found new owners and nineteen eastern lookouts added to the NHLR in the last year.

Your Eastern Dep. Chairman was awarded a certificate of appreciation by the state of New York Dept. of Environmental Conservation "For your special dedication to the tens of thousands of New Yorkers and visitors who have benefited from your work on the Catskill fire towers."
