Activities Statement

As Arkansas Chapter Director, I have responded to almost a dozen requests for information on both the state and national level while continuing to add data to the Arkansas Lookout Inventory. During the summer, I sent out to the FFLA directors and representatives, a CD of all of the lookout plans that I have acquired from USDA Forest Service web pages and other directors (Colorado was returned as undeliverable). I was able to assist the city of Hamburg, Arkansas, in getting the Crossroad Lookout Tower on the NHLR and was able to send them their certificate. I was also able to assist the city of Hamburg in applying for the FFLA grant, which was awarded to them. I have contacted the Oklahoma State Archaeologist and the Oklahoma State Historic Preservation Office for information on Oklahoma Lookout towers but they both directed me toward each other. As there are other avenues of research, I remain unstymied.

Financial Statement

All photocopying and mailing of information, CDs, maps, and lookout plans has been paid for out-of-pocket as a donation to the Association. I have no expectations of requesting any Association funds for the coming year.
