THANK YOU to TIM WORTH for the many years he contributed to helping maintain the Colorado FFLA website and for compiling an invaluable wealth of information about fire lookouts in our State. Unfortunately, Tim no longer has time to devote to this task. We look forward to the time he will be able to be involved once again. Mark Nelson will be taking over the task of website maintenance. Thanks Mark!
SQUAW MOUNTAIN FIRE LOOKOUT located at 11,500' on the Arapaho National Forest continues to be restored. Two work days have been held the summer of 2008 with broken windows replaced, shutters repaired, railing stained, lower level floor replaced, new door to cab installed, stone outhouse door rehung and picnic table stained. On August 9th, Keith Argow, Chairman of the FFLA Board, participated along with his two children, Kristen and Kent Argow who live in Colorado. If the Clear Creek District Ranger, Daniel Lovato, is able to acquire a grant for replacement of the shutters, another work day will be scheduled in October.
