Meeting
The 2011 FFLA Board of Directors Meeting will be held at the Georgia Forestry Commission Headquarters, 5645 Riggins Mill Road, Dry Branch, Georgia (Macon area), on Saturday, January 15, gathering at 8:30 with a call-to-order at 9:00 a.m.
To reach the GFC office from I-16, take Exit 6 and go north on US 23 (Ocmulgee East Blvd), then right on Joe Tamplin Industrial Blvd. At the caution light, turn right onto Riggins Mill Road for less than half a mile, GFC is on the right.
Contact Chairman Argow for additional details, including any Friday evening activities. The Sunday tours of Georgia fire towers will be organized by Don Shedd (will depart from the Microtel Inn), who himself has moved a fire tower onto his woodlands in Northeast Georgia.
Election
The Board of Directors will hold elections for three Officer Positions at the annual board meeting on January 15, 2011. The positions (two year terms) are: Western Deputy Chair, Secretary and Historian.
Per FFLA Bylaws, nominations were to have been sent to Elections Officer Rob Hoeye by three months prior to the election. The final nominations were for the three incumbents, Western Deputy Chairman Dave Bula, Secretary Brad Eells, and Historian Bob Spear. While only FFLA directors and officers are eligible to vote, any FFLA member may make nominations.
